Job Description

This position is responsible for keeping the production facility in clean and orderly condition.

Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning equipment, washing floors and walls, removing garbage, and other duties to support plant sanitation.

Position Schedule

Responsibilities

• Washes, scrubs, and rinses machinery and conveyors in assigned working areas using chemicals and cleaning tools.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
• Keep the area clean and walkways free of product and debris.
• Clean floors and equipment.
• Clean production equipment as assigned.
• Comply with HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, and food safety requirements.
• Complete the cleaning process and prepare for USDA inspection.
• Ensure conformance with sanitation standards.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure services are provided efficiently and on time.
• Wash work areas, machines, equipment, vehicles, or products.
• Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble food processing equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job. The position requires standing, walking, carrying, holding tools and hoses, crouching, kneeling, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions effectively and efficiently.
• Individuals should have a good safety and attendance record. Regular attendance at work and punctuality are essential job functions.
• Demonstrated commitment to the GMP program requirements.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.

Preferred Experience

• Safety training.
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) training.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the use of all parts of the body. This includes activities such as (but not limited to) walking, lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, twisting, and turning.

Substantial movements of the wrists, elbows, hands, and fingers are required.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

The ability to stand for the entirety of the shift, excluding break and rest periods, is required.

This position is subject to temperatures ranging from 30 to 50 degrees constantly. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Other environmental factors may apply.
